After my announcement introducing my client, Trinity Homecare, I wanted to take the time to honour my pledge about informing and providing information to those who need it. So, I have come on here not only to share what I know about live-in care but also what Trinity Homecare have taught me about what they do and why they do it.
From the AARP 2021 Home and Community Preferences Survey, it was shown that 77% of adults over 50 would much prefer to stay in the familiarity and comfort of their own home.
The big question then comes into how you can manage the care and emotional needs of someone who is now needing to access care services. These do not have to be mutually exclusive! You can balance your wants and your care needs with live-in care.
When speaking to the wonderful team at Trinity Homecare, they have commented on how prospective clients don’t know anything about live-in care or weren’t aware that they could meet their needs without having to uproot their existence. What was a distressing and upsetting conversation turns into a supportive one, full of options!
Sometimes people choose a care home when live-in care could be a better option.
From my personal experience and seeing the work that Trinity does, and how they prioritise communication, trust, and the safety of both their clients and staff, I want to share the ways that live-in care helps people.
– If care needs are met in the home, there is less upheaval of their lives. e.g. routines, visitors, pets.
– People can discuss if they need bespoke one-to-one visiting care, or if a live-in option best suits their needs.
– If you have visiting care, clients are then in control of the frequency and duration of visits based on their needs.
Live-in care and Trinity’s offer is about autonomy. Which increases independence and empowers those who need care services. It is also tailored to their needs and is a one-to-one support option bespoke to the user.
With live-in care you are surrounded by the comforts of home and familiarity in what can be extremely stressful times. You have support during outings and appointments with safe and trained individuals. This option boosts both mental and physical health.
